An impressive resource, especially the activity which gets the pupils thinking about the cost of their personal use of electricity. Also, How Green is my Valley could provide an interesting enterprise activity. The students, as researchers for a new energy company, identify the different sources of energy and the best production costs to provide energy in a region, using a computer simulation.
Big Deal encourages students to see how energy companies market their services and helps develop an understanding of different ways of persuading customers to buy, including loyalty cards, introductory offers, on-line savings. The students develop an understanding of the impact of these schemes on what the customer pays.

Really useful! A great resource for getting students thinking about being a green consumer. Lots of opportunities to develop and adapt to student needs and great web links for independent study.
