My Money: Local Authority Briefing Pack
Advice and support for delivering effective personal finance education programmes. This booklet is being produced to help those Local Authority staff who are concerned with the economic wellbeing of children, young people and families identify where the promotion of financial capability can support their work. It introduces the My Money programme, describes its purpose and scope and how it can contribute to existing national, local and school priorities. My Money will help Local Authorities support learners growing up in an increasingly challenging economic environment. It aims to increase LA and school capacity to promote the financial capability of children and young people so that the programme leaves a lasting legacy. This booklet will show how personal finance education can help in the delivery of these key strategic areas: - Every Child Matters (ECM) - The Children’s Plan (DCSF 2007) - Local authority Children & Young People’s Plans - Pupil Well-being - School Self Evaluation - The school curriculum - Community cohesion - National Healthy Schools Programme - Learning outside the classroom manifesto.
