FinCAP - the My Money financial capability assessment profile tool
The FinCAP is an innovative online tool for assessing your pupils’ personal finance knowledge, skills and attitudes at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
The content of the profile is made up of real-life scenarios relevant to the lives of students. Each is based on key financial ‘lifestage’ experiences identified through research. This will help 11-16 year old users to relate to the material and ensures that the assessment results reflect real decisions and practical knowledge that will help them in the future. There is a separate profile for
Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 and each one is designed around a photographic comic book format which students will find engaging and exciting to use. FinCAP provides detailed reporting to teachers to inform and assess teaching.
It is linked to the PSHE education part of the National Curriculum, specifically the programme of study for Economic Wellbeing of which Financial Capability is a part, and there are detailed instructions for teachers to download.
