Assessor's comments
This resource is well set out providing clear guidance for teachers on the activities, opportunities for assessment and ideas for differentiation. The financial topics introduced in the lessons are handled clearly and concisely and integrate well with the other topics used. The provision of resources for activities and power point presentations on CD Rom is a great idea.
The Board Game is easy to play and is well thought out and realistic. It is enjoyable and promotes the essential discussions that will enable pupils to become aware of the implications of day to day financial decisions on their lives. It can enhance other programmes of learning by addressing choices and decision-making in relation to financial matters.

Fiona Ellis's comment:
Turning Points and Active Scene
The board game - Turning Points – is a brilliant way of encouraging students to discuss different life choice and their financial impact, but the winner is the player with the most happiness credits, not the most money!
It involves 6 life paths - study, full time work, part time work, family, volunteering and own business. Players move around the board and between life paths using cards that describe real life situations. Some cards force players to make a decision, others make the decision for you. The dice introduces a level of luck – just like life itself!
Active Scene is full of activities about life, many of which include personal finance. It’s split into 10 sessions such as Working to live or living to work?, The language of money, and Cash control.
