Case Study No. 41: Personal finance through citizenship days looking at career and life choices held at Westergate Community School, Chichester

The effects of suspended timetable days for personal finance education and related activities can be considerable in the short term but that impact may not be sustained unless the good work on the day is not supplemented and sustained by further development of the theme at a later stage. Indeed without follow up work, such days can be seen by some pupils as being bolted on and not about real learning. This case study (5 pages) describes how the school planned for two such days and also ensured that the learning was taken back into the classroom when the days were over.
