Case Study No. 12: Excellence and Access – Working with trainee teachers and NQTs
At the heart of the Excellence and Access Project is the desire to develop the skills and confidence of teachers in the delivery of personal finance education. To work with a range of people at the start of their careers was an ideal opportunity to raise awareness about personal finance education. It also built confidence and skill levels so that new teachers could offer a wider range of expertise and provide high quality learning opportunities for all pupils. This case study (4 pages) describes some of the ways that the Excellence and Access project has supported ITT providers and schools in partnership with providers, to increase the skills and confidence of teachers who are just starting out.
