BIG-SELLING pop-rapper Tinchy Stryder shared his top tips for making cash with schoolchildren.
The 20-year-old, who twice topped the charts in 2009, was at St Matthew Academy in St Joseph’s Vale, Blackheath, on Thursday.
Tinchy, from Bow, east London, self-financed his first album before becoming the country’s biggest selling male artist last year.
The 5ft 1in entrepreneur is backing the Government’s My Money programme, which aims to give pupils finance lessons.
Tinchy, who founded his own record label and clothing brand, said he had to learn personal finance lessons as he rose to fame and wishes that he had learnt the basics at school.
He said: “Many young people have big dreams about their future, just as I did when I was younger.
“I had to work hard to make the money I needed to make those dreams come true.
“I think it’s really important kids get taught about personal finance from an early age.
“I hope schools and young people across the country get on board with the My Money initiative, sign up to My Money Week and put personal finance firmly on the agenda.”
